At NorthBay Health, the Bariatric Surgery Program Coordinator – Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for coordinating and clinically supporting an MBSAQIP-accredited Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (MBS) Center of Excellence. This role ensures continuous compliance with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practice while delivering advanced clinical care to bariatric patients across the continuum. Working directly with the MBS Director, the Bariatric Coordinator NP provides clinical leadership, oversees program operations, supports quality improvement initiatives, data oversight, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration and serves as a subject matter expert for bariatric care delivery. The NP Coordinator serves as a key liaison across NorthBay Health departments and collaborates with the metabolic and weight loss program to support seamless patient navigation throughout the continuum of care (pre-operative, peri-operative, and post-operative). The coordinator also collaborates with others as appropriate to support program initiatives, education, and quality improvement activities. In addition to program coordination responsibilities, Bariatric NP functions in an advanced practice role consistent with state scope of practice and organizational privileges. The NP provides comprehensive clinical care to bariatric patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management in both pre-operative and post-operative settings including long-term bariatric follow-up while coordinating multidisciplinary care across departments.
