About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner ensures appropriate comprehensive health care to support the clinical care team in achieving Neighborcare's goals for quality care, productivity and patient satisfaction. Perform independent clinical activities, and collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants when appropriate to achieve quality patient care. Work in partnership and joint accountability with other lead team members to achieve Neighborcare's Mission and Guiding Principles and goals. Please note that as a part of the school-base health care program this position is on standby during the summer for approximately eight to ten weeks. School base employees are not paid during the standby period. The duration of the standby period may fluctuate from year to year depending on many factors.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of Washington State confidentiality and consent regulations for adolescent health services
  • Knowledge of community resources, including insurance and Medicaid eligibility requirements
  • Knowledge of and proficient in the use of Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of cultural and social determinants of health
  • Ability to organize data, calendars, monthly reports, and feedback on activities
  • Ability to develop relationships between Neighborcare Health, schools, and SBHCs to expand services and deliver resources
  • Ability to meet and comply with HIPAA/Confidentiality policies and procedures
  • Ability to willingly accept responsibility, organize and problem solve, and follow-up on tasks
  • Ability to analyze patient care data
  • Ability to listen actively and respond to patients, school staff, parents, and staff members in a timely, competent manner both verbally and non-verbally
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of our patients and clinics

  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Active ARNP license with Washington State Department of Health
  • Active DEA licensure
  • Board certified
  • Current BLS certification

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in the field of pediatric healthcare, preferably working with low income, multi-ethnic populations, school-based health, and/or developmental pediatrics
  • Bilingual desirable
  • Willingness to assist at multiple Neighborcare Health clinic sites
  • Valid Washington State driver's license required and proof of automobile insurance

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient centered preventative care, as well as diagnoses and treatment of acute and chronic conditions
  • Identify the need for referrals and provide overall care coordination in a team-based setting
  • Assure accurate and timely completion of all clinical records; Completion of paperwork in a team-based approach
  • Completing necessary paperwork for patient care such as, prior authorizations and communications with outside specialists
  • Timely response to communications and test results; Provide feedback to appropriate teams and/or individuals when necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client information.
  • Attend required in service/training/staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Occasionally will need to have some flexibility in hours to meet the needs of the families, and schedule work hours throughout a calendar year.
