About The Position
The Department of Ambulatory Care Services at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time TH Assistant Director of Nursing / Nurse Practitioner, Suite R Internal Medicine. The successful candidate will provide primary care services to individuals and families, which includes caring for their own panel of patients as well as seeking walk-in patients of the practice as needed. Responsibilities also include documenting all care provided in the patients' medical records and developing and managing a patient care panel with participation in managed care programs and other direct patient care programs as applicable. Daily tasks will involve reviewing all laboratory and radiology reports to identify abnormal results for urgent follow-up, ensuring that patients are contacted for additional care, and notifying their primary providers. The candidate will also participate in departmental and Family Medicine educational activities for medical students and allied health professional students, as well as engage in hospital and departmental health fairs and community health education events, speaking to community groups when requested.
