About The Position

Requirements

• Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the ED/ICU or other critical care setting required.
• Current Advanced Nurse Practitioner license from the Texas Board of Nursing required.
• Current Advanced Nurse Practitioner Certification from an accredited body required.
• Current RN license from the state of Texas required.
• Current CPR training required.
• Master of Science in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) required.

Nice To Haves

• One year experience as Nurse Practitioner in Neurosurgery preferred.
• ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support course) preferred.
• CCRN/CEN preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to neurosurgical consults and admissions.
• Assist with provider rounds, including writing notes and orders.
• Enter admission, pre- and post-operative, and consultative orders in a timely manner.
• Facilitate preparation of patients for surgery.
• Assist with surgical procedures after obtaining RN First Assistant Certification.
• Ensure timely communication with family and patients.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations.
