About The Position

The Cleveland Clinic is currently seeking innovative, adaptable and critical thinking Acute Care Nurse Practitioners to join us as we grow and develop our successful, NP led team of Acute Care Nurse Practitioners by providing high quality, acute care to patients at Avon Hospital's Step-Down unit. NP experience is preferred, however candidates with at least 3 years of experience as a Step Down, Emergency Room or Critical Care RN will be considered. Successful candidates will have a strong desire for autonomous practice and have the ability to function at the top of their license after training, fully integrating into a community hospital system where they have the ability to affect real change and improve patient outcomes with every interaction. The Step-Down unit Intensive Care and Resuscitation House Officer will, with oversight from the critical care physician, develop and implement plans of care for acutely ill patients. These may include necessary testing, procedures and consultation with various specialties. This provider will also assist with Rapid Response and Code Blue efforts throughout the hospital in collaboration with the ICU Nurse Practitioner. As you progress through your training, you will have the opportunity to obtain further procedural skills that will result in the ability to intubate, place central lines and arterial lines, and manage ventilators.
