About The Position

Aspirus Cardiology Clinic in Wausau, WI is seeking a Nurse Navigator to join our team! The Nurse Navigator is a clinician who functions as an active health advisor and advocate throughout the process of screening, diagnosis, and treatment of specified conditions. Primary responsibilities include providing patient education & answering questions about procedures and studies performed as part of the diagnosis process; informing patients of study results; and arranging for appropriate follow-up if emotional and social needs require special intervention. The Nurse Navigator is a Registered Nurse who assumes responsibility and accountability for the provision of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care provided that incorporates evidence-based practice. A key aspect of the work of Nursing is to continually improve the quality of nursing care by collecting and analyzing data.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of standard nursing process is normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience inspecialty nursing or related field.
  • Possesses an active Wisconsin or Michigan RN nursing license.
  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin, and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.   • Possesses superior communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Possesses diplomacy, problem solving, conflict management, and team building skills.
  • Demonstrated competence in education and working independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Navigator Certification is desired.
  • ACLS strongly desired.
