The Nurse Midwife will support the OBGYN Department Hospitalist Group.at their Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital. The Midwife Provides full scope midwifery care to obstetrical patients in accordance with approved midwifery protocols. Once you join us you won't want to leave. Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) State Licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) by Texas Board of Nursing (BON) required
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - Nurse Practitioner (APRN-NP) by Texas Board of Nursing (BON) required or
  • Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) by American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) by American Heart Association (AHA) may be obtained post-hire required or
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) by American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and American Heart Association (AHA) may be obtained post-hire required
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, directs, and implements prenatal and postpartum care.
  • Orders, conducts, and interprets pertinent laboratory and diagnostic studies and procedures.
  • Makes medical recommendations and/or referrals.
  • Formulates, implements, and evaluates an outcome-based treatment plan.
  • Maintains appropriate records detailing the patient's treatment plans and outcomes.
  • Facilitates patient education relating to medical processes, medication, nutrition, and health promotion.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, other clinicians, and referral services to assist in the patient's treatment.
  • Educates nursing students, medical students, residents and other healthcare professionals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
