About The Position

Position Overview: Comprehensive Patient Care : As a nurse midwife in our OBGYN/Midwifery department, you will have the unique opportunity to deliver exceptional patient-centered care. This would include prenatal care and support throughout labor. Your time in clinic would include pregnancy, postpartum, well-women care and contraception management and other clinical based services for patients in the office and managing labor patients. Patient Education & Quality : Make a positive impact on patients' lives by providing them with essential education on their pregnancy plans and guiding them throughout the healthcare journey. You will participate in monthly CNM meetings, department and quality meetings. Dual Campus Experience : You will have the privilege of working at both the Augusta and Waterville campuses. Work-Life Balance : This is a full-time position with a manageable call schedule and a weekend on call rotation allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance and pursue your passions outside of the workplace. Midwifery operates collaboratively with the OB/GYN physicians while working under the direct supervision on our Medical Director. Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association
  • Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) - Maine State Board of Nursing
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Maine State Board of Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Provides independent and collaborative primary healthcare and management of care to women before, during and after pregnancy, including care of the newborn
  • Prenatal care and support throughout labor
  • Pregnancy, postpartum, well-women care and contraception management
  • Clinical based services for patients in the office and managing labor patients
  • Providing patients with essential education on their pregnancy plans and guiding them throughout the healthcare journey
