About The Position

The position involves overseeing the quality of nursing care and ensuring that approved standards of resident care are maintained throughout the facility. The individual will be responsible for delegating responsibilities for direct resident care activities to the Head Nurse or Nurse in Charge of each unit. This role includes supervising, evaluating, counseling, and coaching care members on assigned units, as well as identifying and resolving problems at the unit level. The individual will keep the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing informed of residents' statuses through verbal communication and written reports. Daily rounds will be made to visit every floor of responsibility, checking on acutely ill residents, admissions, and following up on residents. The position also requires performing periodic audits of charting and documentation, assuring the proper execution of physician's orders, and dealing effectively and professionally with resident and family concerns. Additionally, the individual will submit weekly and monthly reports on statistics, meetings, and other pertinent information, and attend continuing education classes, seminars, and workshops to maintain professional competency.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in Nursing Administration required
  • Current NY State Registered Nurse license
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
