Our goal is to deliver excellent nursing care throughout the spectrum of cardiovascular disease treatment. A collaborative approach, including patient and family centered care, is essential to delivering care to this complex and high-risk patient population, including cardiology, advanced heart failure, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and cardiogenic shock patients. The professional development of staff is fundamental to our success and this will be a key part of the management role. The Nurse Manager directs all aspects of patient care, which includes managing nursing personnel and material resources in a cost-effective manner, unit planning and the initiation of innovative clinical and management practices with emphasis on retention strategies, and commitment to achieving quality care and outcomes. This role will also include: strategic and financial planning; developing and executing short/long term goals that align with our strategic initiatives, as well as project and program development. Requirements

• MS degree in nursing or related field, or current matriculation, required.
• Applicants must hold an active New York State license in good standing.
• Applicants will have 5 years’ experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Recent clinical experience in Adult Cardiovascular Care required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains 24 hour-a-day accountability for all patient care and nursing activities on assigned inpatient unit.
• Oversees and directs unit activities including standards development, human resource management, assessment of resource needs and utilization, staff development and communication within nursing practice as well as among other disciplines and departments.
• Oversees all performance improvement activities at the unit level and participates in committees at all levels within the institution.
