About The Position

Central State Hospital is seeking a full-time Nurse Manager for a patient unit who will facilitate the goal of quality patient care by coordinating the multidisciplinary team and supervising clinical and non-clinical staff for all shifts. Requirements

  • Kentucky Registered Nurse License
  • Bachelor's of Nursing (Accredited College/University)
  • Valid Driver's License

Nice To Haves

  • Four years in a management role preferred
  • Previous psychiatric experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical supervision of RN, LPN and non-licensed nursing staff in the care and treatment of patients. Including, annual performance reviews, scheduling, staff meetings, training, personnel grievances, etc.
  • Maintains a highly visible presence on units to model and direct patient care.
  • Ensures unit adheres to state and Joint Commission licensure standards and participates in licensure review activities.
  • Provides patient care when needed, utilizing a trauma informed care approach.
  • Coordinates and participates in performance improvement processes and participates in evaluation and improvement of patient care outcomes.
  • Serves as shift coordinator as needed and coordinates care in emergency situations.
  • Assists in meeting patient care outcomes adhering to principles of recovery.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with hospital services, disciplines and departments.
