Legacy Silverton Medical Center serves the heart of the Willamette Valley with a wide mix of services, many not typically available in a community hospital: CT scan (computerized tomography), nuclear medicine, echocardiography, family birth center and much more.
Requirements
- An academic degree in nursing is required (BSN or MSN/MN).
- Master's degree required.
- Two years of leadership practice experience required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical operations, including staffing and scheduling, budget management, workflow planning, staff development, quality, safety and patient experience management.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and leadership skills, and a willingness to lead by example.
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions are essential.
- Current RN licensure for applicable state.
Nice To Haves
- MSN/MN preferred.
- Internal candidates promoting from Assistant Nurse Manager may meet the master's degree requirement with verification of a master's degree in progress with an expected completion date within 2 years of the promotion date; progress will be reported periodically to the site CNO. Assistant Nurse Managers filling this role on an interim basis are not required to have an MSN/MN in progress so long as the assignment does not exceed 3 months, unless approved by CNO.
- Demonstrated growth in leadership responsibilities and breadth desired.
- Previous clinical experience specific to the appropriate area of specialty practice is highly desirable.
- Specialty specific certification highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Serves as the accountable department manager for a designated patient care unit or department(s)
- Oversees all daily operational activities, including:
- Staffing and scheduling
- Departmental planning and budgeting
- Ensuring efficient care delivery systems and processes
- Ensures delivery of safe, high-quality care and an exceptional patient and family experience
- Assumes 24/7 responsibility for all departmental functions
- Maintains effective interprofessional communication and fosters a positive work environment
- Promotes and supports shared governance principles
- Ensures staff education and competency for patient care
- Collaborates routinely and effectively with physicians, peers, and Legacy leadership
- Aligns departmental goals and operations with Legacy's strategic objectives
