About The Position
Garfield Park Behavioral Hospital is dedicated to providing behavioral health and psychiatric support to children and teens ages 3 to 17. JOB SUMMARY: The Clinical Nurse Manager provides administrative and clinical supervision to all nursing staff. The Clinical Nurse Manager assumes 24 Hour responsibility for his/her unit to ensure quality care of services are provided to patients. Ensure provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, and evaluates the effectiveness of the program to meet patient needs. Actively participates in the multidisciplinary treatment plan meetings for patients to coordinate plan of care for each patient.
Requirements
- Graduate of a nursing program. BSN/MSN preferred.
- Three years clinical experience in psychiatric nursing and 2 years in management preferred. Minimum of 1 year experience or special training in the treatment of the special age/population served by the specific units or programs for which he/she is hired.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
- Knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing principles, working concepts and theory, leadership skills, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Physical agility to manage patients.
- Push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping.
