About the position

The Nurse Manager at Recovery Centers of America is responsible for leading and supporting nursing units within a substance abuse treatment facility. This role involves direct supervision of nursing staff, ensuring high-quality clinical outcomes, conducting training, and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards. The Nurse Manager collaborates with the Director of Nursing to develop training programs and oversees the onboarding of new employees, while also engaging with patients and families to promote recovery-oriented treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision, mentorship, and evaluation of nursing staff.
  • Conduct chart audits and ensure high-quality clinical outcomes through monitoring and oversight.
  • Design and execute clinical, operational, and technological training programs for nursing staff.
  • Onboard new department employees and provide remedial training as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to develop and implement training initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with quality and regulatory standards in nursing practices.
  • Consult with healthcare providers to support the organization's mission and values.
  • Interact with patients and families to promote individualized treatment plans.
  • Monitor employee schedules and payroll.

Requirements

  • Current/Active State Licensure as a registered nurse strongly preferred.
  • Current active state licensure as a practical nurse required.
  • At least two years of experience in behavioral health/substance use disorder treatment preferred.
  • Current CPR or BLS certification preferred or must complete during orientation period.
  • Experience in Motivational Interviewing, Clinical Supervision, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and trauma-informed care preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice-to-haves

  • CARN certification preferred, where applicable.
  • Competency in performing CLIA waived testing.
  • Proficiency in screening/assessing for suicide ideation and aggression.
