About The Position

The Nurse Manager (NM) is responsible for the coordination and supervision of both professional and non-professional staff in a Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) setting. This role emphasizes quality client and family advocacy, ensuring the effective coordination of care through a multidisciplinary approach. The NM leads the center staff, assesses the needs of children and families, and facilitates referrals to appropriate healthcare providers and community resources, all while adhering to PPEC regulations.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current RN licensure.
  • Must be licensed in the state of the designated facility or have a qualifying Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • Basic personal computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Office.
  • A minimum of two (2) years current nursing experience, including six (6) months in a PICU, NICU, or PPEC facility.
  • Current CPR (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • Current TB test required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in pediatric nursing or management roles.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Business applications and Procare Engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional customer service and quality care.
  • Acts as a role model to provide professional and courteous service to children and their families.
  • Facilitates team assignments to ensure quality care based on professional experience and client needs.
  • Aids the Medical Director in determining client eligibility for admission.
  • Participates in team efforts to fulfill area goals and work requirements.
  • Presents information to staff members positively.
  • Promotes and maintains confidentiality in all situations and interactions.
  • Provides counseling, guidance, and supervision to team members with a positive approach.
  • Conducts sound nursing assessments and utilizes established guidelines.
  • Demonstrates the ability to provide individualized care at all times.
  • Assists with referral inquiries and evaluates client eligibility for admission.
  • Handles emergent situations safely while remaining calm.
  • Performs initial assessments of children/families at the center.
  • Coordinates care of children as directed by the physician according to the Plan of Treatment and Care Plan.
  • Supervises documentation to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Supervises assessment, evaluation, observation, and management of established protocols.
  • Provides direct client care as needed, including personal care activities and administration of medications.
  • Maintains a clean, healthful, and safe environment.
  • Keeps current in TKC affairs via staff meetings and designated communications.
  • Participates in planning in-service training programs and educates staff on health issues.
  • Maintains a current certification in basic life support (BLS).
  • Follows all policy and procedures implemented by TKC.
