Being a Nurse Manager at Devereux has its Advantages: You will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. The Nurse Manager serves as liaison with on-call physicians, community medical providers and independent contractors, while assuring the delivery of quality nursing services in accordance with established nursing procedures. Collaborates with department heads to ensure the provision of nursing care in compliance with standards for nursing practice and standards of patient care. He/she serves as an integral member of the Texas Leadership Team and is responsible for maintaining compliance with Joint Commission standards and federal, state and local regulations and requirements. He/she ensures the development and implementation of nursing procedures and processes/systems. Ensures appropriate training of nursing staff. The Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the staff and managing the day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate is confident in their medical decisions and will be responsible for coaching and supervising the nursing team and ensure the safety of the individuals in our care whilst also being part of a nurse rotation for hands on care working directly with our children.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Nursing
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse through the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
  • Valid driver license must be maintained
  • Minimum of Two (2) years clinical experience
  • Minimum of Three (3) years supervisory experience
  • Proficient computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children in our care
  • Act as a liaison and communicate with the psychiatric, medical and treatment teams
  • Manage the center's nursing activities to assure the highest quality of nursing services
  • Supervise and coach the nursing team
  • Work directly with the children
