Nurse Manager - Virtual Nursing ChristianaCare is seeking an experienced Manager of Nursing – Virtual Acute Care to lead our innovative virtual care delivery model. This role assumes 24-hour accountability for clinical and operational excellence in virtual acute care nursing, including oversight of the Virtual Safety Sitter Telemonitoring Program. You will play a key role in shaping patient care through telehealth platforms while fostering a culture of collaboration, professional development, and patient safety.

  • Provide leadership and direction for virtual acute care nursing teams.
  • Conduct routine leader rounds to ensure visibility, teamwork, and quality care.
  • Drive change management initiatives and optimize patient flow in a virtual environment.
  • Mentor and develop nursing staff, promoting autonomy and relationship-based care.
  • Oversee hiring, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Lead daily huddles and monthly staff meetings to communicate priorities and recognize achievements.
  • Develop and monitor performance improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate across departments to enhance program development and clinical excellence.
  • Participate in budgeting, staffing decisions, and succession planning.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • BSN and Master’s degree (or BS + MSN).
  • Professional certification in a nursing specialty required; Nurse Executive certification preferred.
  • Current RN license in Delaware or compact state.
  • BLS or ACLS certification required.
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical and leadership experience .
  • Strong knowledge of ANA Code of Ethics, ANCC Magnet® Model, and Relationship-Based Care.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Nurse Executive certification preferred.
