As a Nurse Manager in this role, you will oversee the daily clinical and operational activities within the Operating Room, supporting the advanced specialization and complexity of each surgical service. You will ensure that all necessary equipment and instrumentation are available for surgeons, manage staff and physician coordination, and collaborate with service teams and vendors on purchasing and equipment maintenance. Additionally, you will help coordinate daily schedules to ensure proper staffing for each case and contribute to capital equipment analysis and negotiations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Three years of recent nursing clinical experience with at least one year of healthcare management experience
  • High degree of clinical expertise in specialty area managed

Responsibilities

  • Manage the operation and practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit.
  • Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes and patient care standards.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.
  • Supervise caregivers and promote development.
  • Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate unit operations with other units/departments.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, approve purchases and establish/revise inventory quotes.
  • Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs.
  • Evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes and develop strategic plans.
  • Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities.
