Nurse Manager Surgery - Outpatient GI Lab
About The Position
The Nurse Manager Surgery has 24 - hour responsibility for the direct and/or indirect care of the surgical patient. The Nurse Manager Surgery has responsibility for the daily clinical coordination of personnel and resource management in a fiscally responsible manner. The incumbent is also responsible for collaborating with the anesthesia staff and ancillary departments to effectively manage, facilitate, and complete surgical cases for elective, urgent, and emergent surgical procedures. This team member is accountable for quality patient care and the orientation, education, growth, and performance of those reporting to them. The Nurse Manager Surgery must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. This individual also contributes to nursing and Erlanger Health System through support of the philosophy and objectives.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Three (3) years clinical experience with evidence of leadership abilities
- Current licensure to practice Nursing in the State of Tennessee
- BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward
- Completion of 4 Hours of Erlanger Online Education specific to Total Ankle, Hip, and Knee for those working in the Elective Orthopedic Center.
- Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Management, Business, or other related field.
- Previous Management experience
- Certification in area of specialty
