About The Position

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager RN to lead a Cardiac Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit in Plano, Texas. The Nurse Manager has 24/7 accountability and responsibility for a defined patient care area and is responsible for creating an environment that supports individualized, goal-directed nursing care aligned with the mission, vision, and values of the facility. This role focuses on patient safety, quality outcomes, staff engagement, operational efficiency, and evidence-based practice. The Nurse Manager develops and implements plans to ensure safe, high-quality care delivery through the nursing process, Synergy Model, and evidence-based practices. This leader oversees staff performance, budgeting, cost control, infection prevention compliance, and patient safety initiatives while fostering employee satisfaction, physician satisfaction, and continuous performance improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of RECENT acute care critical care or PCU leadership experience required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Current Texas RN license or Compact RN license accepted
  • National specialty certification required or commitment to obtain within 1 year of hire
  • BLS and ACLS required

Nice To Haves

  • Progressive leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Previous experience at Magnet or Pathways-designated facilities strongly preferred
  • Master’s Degree (MSN or related field) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain 24/7 accountability for Cardiac Stepdown patient care operations
  • Develop and implement plans for individualized, goal-directed nursing care
  • Ensure patient safety, quality outcomes, and adherence to evidence-based practices
  • Select, develop, manage, and engage unit-based nursing staff
  • Delegate care appropriately based on patient needs and staff competencies
  • Maintain operating expenses within budget targets
  • Promote infection prevention compliance and TJC patient safety goals
  • Monitor occurrence reporting trends and implement safety improvements
  • Educate staff on reporting medical errors and unanticipated outcomes
  • Support staff involvement in education, community involvement, and professional development
