Requirements
- Education: Graduate of Ohio Board of Nursing approved nursing program or school of nursing.
- Licenses or other required certifications: RN licensure is preferred. Must have current RN or LPN license to practice nursing in State of Ohio, hold current CPR card.
- Experience: Previous experience in long term/geriatrics preferred.
- Specialized knowledge, skills, or abilities: Familiar with infection control practices, OSHA guidelines relative to long term care, and Ohio Department of Health Regulations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians and other interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement and manage resident-driven care plans
- Manages staff assignments, and maintains appropriate staffing ratios.
- Delegates duties to staff members within each individual team member's scope of practice, training, and competency level.
- Provide direct leadership, supervision and support to nursing staff including RN, LPN and STNA
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by Medical Director or Resident physician
- Documentation following established clinical policies and procedures
- Effectively communicates with residents, family members and co-workers
- Protects the health and safety of residents
- Other duties as assigned and/or appropriate to the position
- Willing to lead by example and support your team in achieving goals, including performing duties of other nursing staff when needed
