About The Position

About 8 Main – Medical Surgical Telemetry 8 Main is a Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit that provides comprehensive care to patients with a wide range of acute medical conditions . The team specializes in managing patients with complex medical needs requiring skilled nursing care, post-operative management, and telemetry as indicated . Job Summary The Nurse Manager for 8 Main is responsible for leading daily clinical operations, patient care coordination, staffing, and throughput management . Reporting to the AVP-Service Line and Unit-Based Director , this role ensures exceptional patient care, staff engagement, and adherence to quality and safety standards .

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing .
  • Minimum two (2) years of previous nursing experience in a Med/Surg Telemetry or similar acute care unit, with progressive leadership responsibilities (e.g., charge nurse, team lead).
  • Current RN license with the Georgia State Board of Nursing or eNLC equivalent.
  • BLS required
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for the unit, ensuring high-quality, efficient patient care.
  • Act as the liaison between physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to enhance communication and workflow.
  • Oversee patient assignments, resource management, and throughput to optimize care delivery.
  • Participate in daily interdisciplinary rounds , ensuring safe and effective discharge planning.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed assistive personnel to foster professional growth.
  • Collaborate with the Unit Director to support staff performance evaluations, quality initiatives, and professional development .
  • Lead process improvement efforts to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes.
  • Monitor departmental budget, staffing needs, and operational efficiency .
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and corporate standards .
