Duke Health Integrated Practice comprises more than 110 primary and specialty outpatient clinics, extending the reach of Duke Health's mission across the state of North Carolina. We are seeking a NURSE MANAGER for our Duke Perinatal clinic located in Durham, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
  • Three years of nursing experience is required.
  • Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina.
  • BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Daily oversight (in conjunction with HCA) of all clinical operations at Duke Perinatal Durham (excluding financial/budgetary processes). This may include the following: Questions/service recovery/needs from or with MFM clinic staff.
  • Manage various personnel actions of RN/CMA including, but not limited to hiring, orientation, performance appraisals, promotions and scheduling; and counsel and conduct formal discipline of staff, and staff skill development/learning.
  • Oversight of Duke Perinatal Durham Programs: Ready Set Baby, diabetes program, prematurity program, PHT program, COBS program, and multiple ongoing QI projects.
  • Be available for on-call emergencies involving the facility, staff, patients, and supplies/meds.
  • In conjunction with HCA, develop operating policies and procedures for Duke Perinatal Durham and MFM division.
  • Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission, Infection Control, OESO, DUHS, DHIP, NCBON, AAMA and AMT Guidelines. Some examples of this are: To ensure day-to-day clinic JC readiness including staff compliance (licenses UTD, files UTD, yearly modules and trainings set up and completed, daily following P&Ps, ensuring staff are completing hand hygiene audits, ensuring that med lists are UTD, policies signed yearly, monthly checks of JC binders and logs, completion of drills, etc.
  • Development, Education, Mentoring of Duke Quality Systems staff A3's to improve outcomes at Duke Perinatal.
  • Manage meetings and follow-up and attend meetings with DHIP and Department.
  • Maintain liaison with all levels of administration, physicians, and outside organizations, including all consultative services, to coordinate patient care and accomplish directives.
  • Assist with determining fiscal requirements, budgeting, monitoring supplies, purchasing.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
