About The Position

The Psychiatric Manager will provide an atmosphere that supports the Adena mission and is responsible and accountable for assisting the Director in providing and coordinating safe, efficient, and therapeutic care to all patients and families. The Psychiatric Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards for behavioral health and health care facilities, as well as adherence to health system and service-line specific policies. Decisions are made independently or in collaboration with others. The Psychiatric Manager has some direct patient care duties and accesses confidential information related to patient care and the organization, including health system financial information. The Psychiatric Manager coordinates care delivered on the psychiatric unit by planning, directing and coordinating daily operations and is capable of participating in the workload when appropriate. The position requires 24/7 operational management as well as oversight of the service line in conjunction with the Director. Opportunities to improve financial performance are identified and transformed into actions. The Psychiatric Manager assists in the strategic planning and quality improvement processes for the service line. In conjunction with the Director, the manager has responsibility over direct care staff, completes performance evaluations, assists with staff development, and promotes employee recognition. The Manager assists in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures to meet regulatory and operational requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN) with a concentration in Nursing in Mental Health.
  • 4 years of psychiatric experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting.

Nice To Haves

  • MSN in Licensed RN.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience.
  • Experience as a Charge Nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with staff development and promote employee recognition.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures to meet regulatory and operational requirements.
