Requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing degree required. Master's in nursing or related degree preferred.
  • Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license.
  • AHA or ARC BLS provider required.
  • CNOR required within one year of hire/transfer or promotion or specialty certification.
  • Nurse Leader Certification preferred.
  • Ten years of Operating Room experience with five years of perioperative nursing management experience.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of financial implications of materials, equipment, and human resources.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's in nursing or related degree preferred.
  • Nurse Leader Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of Pediatric Cardiac Noninvasive Vascular Lab, Pediatric Cath Lab, and Pediatric CT Surgery Staff.
  • Responsible for all department functions in support of the hospital mission, vision and facility goals.
  • Provide leadership, clinical expertise, and functional direction to Pediatric Cardiac Noninvasive Vascular Lab, Pediatric Cath Lab, and Pediatric CT Surgery supervisors and staff to achieve optimal perioperative patient outcomes.
  • Create department specific initiatives and process improvement.
  • Integrate collaborative practice and working relationships with all members of the healthcare team.
  • Accept responsibility for management of multiple levels of personnel (including supervisory positions), payroll, budget, capital, business plan, and physician relationships including recruitment endeavors.
  • Serve as liaison for hospital, community and other institutions.
  • Organize and supervise human and material resources.
  • Evaluate quality of perioperative practices in relation to established professional and legal standards.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to facilitate the delivery of patient care.
