About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager of Med-Surg to lead a dynamic medical-surgical unit in a 99-bed acute care hospital located in the Las Colinas area of Irving, Texas. This leadership role provides 24/7 operational accountability for the Med-Surg department, ensuring alignment with hospital mission, strategic objectives, and quality standards while driving staff engagement, patient satisfaction, and financial stewardship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Active Texas RN license or Compact RN (eNLC).
  • Minimum 2+ years of recent acute care Med-Surg experience.
  • Recent Department Manager or Director experience OR strong Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ready to step into a Manager role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full operational leadership of the Med-Surg unit.
  • Ensure high-quality, patient-centered care delivery across all shifts.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, productivity, and payroll management.
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, mentoring, performance evaluations, and corrective action processes.
  • Validate competencies for new and existing staff.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor and manage departmental budget and resource utilization.
  • Align department performance with organizational goals and business trends.
  • Drive engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
