About The Position

The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the medical/surgical units and the Joint Center. The Clinical Nurse Manager organizes and directs the work of nursing units and programs and coordinates staff to assure that effective nursing services are provided and quality standards are met using a multidisciplinary team approach to care. The function of the Clinical Nurse Manager is to develop and maintain an environment that supports the professional nurse, the patient experience, nursing students, and staff. The Clinical Nurse Manager holds 24-hour, 7-day responsibility and accountability for staff and students participating in the program. This position reports to the Clinical Director, Medical/Surgical Services and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor ofScience in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school required
  • Previousexperience in a supervisory capacity within Med/Surg required
  • Current Massachusettss licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse(RN) required
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years current clinical experiencerequired
  • Current American Heart Association BLScertification required
  • ACLS required
  • Leadership skills and excellent clinical competence, includingproficiency in the nursing and improvement processes required.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, team building, collaboration,negotiation, problem solving, as well as oral and written communicationskills required.

Nice To Haves

  • certification as a ClinicalNurse Leader or Nursing Administration preferred
  • Masters of Science in Nursing from an accredited school ormatriculation preferred
  • Experience with the development of a DEU or similar NursingUniversity / hospital based collaborative program preferred
