The caregivers at Martin North Hospital have made it an excellent medical facility and a home away from home. Martin North Hospital is looking to add a Nurse Manager to the team who will cover the Oncology Unit on the 3rd floor. This unit specializes in the management and treatment of various forms of cancer. In this role, you will manage the practice of professional nursing and delivery of nurse care as well as establish clinical direction for nursing care delivery. You will be responsible for leadership rounding to ensure the department operates smoothly and effectively as well as reviewing and developing departmental policies, managing performance and annual performance reviews (APRs) and fostering growth and development among team members. Through collaboration with other caregivers and use of your strong critical thinking, multitasking, and nursing skills, you will help to ensure proper patient care from start to finish. Ultimately, your dedication and leadership will help enhance the Cleveland Clinic experience for everyone, whether they are patients, visitors, or fellow caregivers. A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM – 5:00PM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Three years of recent clinical nursing experience including at least one year of healthcare management experience
  • ONS Chemo/Bio course completed within two years of hire
  • High degree of clinical expertise in the specialty area
  • Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skills

  • Prior leadership experience as an Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse

Responsibilities

  • Manage the practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit.
  • Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes and patient care standards.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.
  • Develop quality initiatives and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.
  • Develop and maintain unit-related patient care standards through continuous quality improvement.
  • Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards.
  • Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs and mix.
  • Provide direction and supervision, evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination process and develop strategic plans.
  • Actively promote staff and self-development.
  • Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities.
  • Direct unit participation in evaluation of new products.
  • Approve purchases and establish or revise inventory quotes.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of budget.
