The Nurse Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for the G11 Hospital Medicine Unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center. This role oversees daily clinical operations and is responsible for leadership in patient care delivery, financial stewardship, human resource management, and quality and outcome improvement. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, the Nurse Manager ensures high quality patient care, optimal resource utilization, and consistent achievement of clinical outcomes across the continuum. In partnership with the Associate Director and Clinical Nurse Leader, the Nurse Manager helps shape the unit’s vision and drive a culture that reflects the organization’s values, beliefs, and future goals. The role includes developing, guiding, and empowering staff to problem solve, meet unit and organizational objectives, and achieve high reliability performance. The Nurse Manager promotes a strong understanding of nursing practice within the unit and the institution, advancing evidence based care and supporting the application of new knowledge. The position carries an ethical and professional responsibility to contribute to patient care excellence, organizational improvement, and the advancement of the nursing profession through innovation and leadership. Ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in nursing, an RN license and at least 5 years of professional nursing experience to include two years of supervisory experience in direct patient care activities. This role will cover primarily night shift from 1830 – 0430 including weekends with some dayshift coverage as needed. Candidate must be flexible with schedule.
