Summary: This leadership role is responsible for overseeing patient care delivery systems, clinical operations, staffing, safety, compliance, and performance improvement across assigned units. The position leads teams, manages resources, ensures regulatory compliance, and collaborates closely with physicians and interdisciplinary partners to deliver safe, high-quality care. Depending on assignment, this role may support specialty areas such as Operating Room, Emergency Services, Critical Care, Maternal Child Health, or others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) – Required
  • Minimum 5 years of patient care delivery experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business operations, clinical healthcare, or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years of leadership experience, with or without direct reports
  • Registered Nurse (RN) License – Oregon (required at hire)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required at hire)
  • Patient safety and nursing principles
  • Clinical operations and care delivery

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement best-practice patient care delivery models across multiple locations
  • Manage and resolve patient, family, and member care concerns
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Oversee staffing, resource allocation, equipment, supplies, and medications
  • Ensure a safe environment for patients and employees
  • Maintain clinical expertise and provide clinical supervision and competency oversight
  • Delegate tasks aligned with scope of practice and regulatory standards
  • Ensure compliance with the Nursing Practice Act, Joint Commission, and regulatory requirements
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop staff; support succession planning
  • Drive employee engagement, performance improvement, and accountability
  • Manage departmental operations including budgeting, payroll, and cost control
  • Lead quality, safety, emergency preparedness, and continuous survey readiness initiatives
  • Oversee operational improvement projects and cross-functional strategic initiatives
  • Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Translate business plans into tactical execution
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams and hold them accountable for results
  • Support emergency preparedness and recovery planning
  • Lead process improvement, root cause analysis, and system optimization
  • Ensure standardized, high-quality care delivery across all shifts
