About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager II to lead and oversee operations in the SPACU/PACU (Special Procedures Area/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) at our client's hospital facility. This is a critical leadership role responsible for managing nursing staff, ensuring exceptional patient care standards, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and operational requirements. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical knowledge, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced perioperative environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon
  • Minimum 5+ years of nursing experience, with at least 2+ years in PACU, OR, or perioperative nursing
  • Minimum 2+ years of nursing management or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of post-anesthesia care, patient recovery protocols, and perioperative standards
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain composure in high-stress environments
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and hospital management systems
  • Valid Oregon RN license (must be current and unencumbered)
  • Ability to work onsite at the Happy Valley, OR location
  • Proven track record of clinical nursing experience in perioperative or PACU settings
  • Demonstrated management or leadership experience in a healthcare setting

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related graduate degree
  • Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) or American Board of Perianesthesia Nurses Certification (ABPANC)
  • Experience in a large integrated healthcare system or multi-facility environment
  • Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Previous experience with staff scheduling and workforce management software

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of nurses and support staff in the SPACU/PACU setting
  • Oversee daily unit operations, staffing schedules, and resource allocation to ensure optimal patient care delivery
  • Monitor and maintain clinical quality standards, patient safety metrics, and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and resolve clinical concerns
  • Implement evidence-based nursing practices and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Manage budget responsibilities, including labor costs and supply management for the unit
  • Conduct staff evaluations, performance management, and disciplinary actions as needed
  • Address patient complaints and concerns while maintaining a positive patient experience
