About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing patient care outcomes, service excellence, human resource issues, fiscal management, quality improvement compliance, and communication within the healthcare setting. The role emphasizes creating a positive environment that promotes professional growth and retention, acting as a mentor and coach to staff while ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Certification within specialty area within two years of assuming position
• Registered Nurse
• 2-3 years experience in clinical nursing in the specialty or related area to be managed
• 2-3 years experience in progressive leadership

Responsibilities

• Assists the management team in meeting department targets regarding Unit of Service (UOS).
• Follows designated staffing guidelines and appropriately utilizes supplemental staff.
• Supports all management and SLC decisions through adherence to policies and ongoing communication with unit employees.
• Participates in SLC, unit committee, and TriHealth committees.
• Leads the development of Nursing Home and Physician newsletters and clinically-related brochures, education materials, and collaterals.
• Encourages learning opportunities and participates in the development of staff.
• Acts as a mentor to less experienced employees and participates in competency programs as an instructor or superuser.
• Provides quality patient care through effective utilization of policies and procedures and the nursing process.
• Coordinates patient care through appropriate allocation of resources to facilitate timely patient placement processes.
• Works directly with each RN throughout the shift, offering assistance and guidance.
• Provides feedback to evaluate personnel performance and input for progressive discipline.
