The Registered Nurse (RN) Manager supports the AVP and/or Director in the oversight and evaluation of colleagues, in designing, developing, coordinating, implementing, & management of a complex unit or program which includes staffing and scheduling, human resource oversight and evaluations, quality and performance improvements, collaboration with medical staff and interdisciplinary disciplines, and overall oversight. Overall departmental objectives are to address organizational needs across the continuum of care within the St. Tammany Health System. Specific duties include maintaining quality and performance improvement programs based on evidenced based practice; collaborating with the medical staff, interdisciplinary teams, and contracted vendors, as well as community resources to ensure effective delivery of interdisciplinary care. Duties also include serving as a role model and resource to the Interdisciplinary team which includes collaboration with our hospital and our partners, and all elements of the designated Service Line. The RN manager is also responsible for overseeing the monitoring of supplies, staff payroll, staff scheduling, and creating reports to show activity, successes, and opportunities for department, assisting with staff orientation, development, and evaluations.

Requirements

  • Current R.N. licensure with Louisiana State Board of Nursing with no restrictions.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in nursing is preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Additional certifications as needed within the specific department.
  • 2 years’ experience in specialty is required, 5 years preferred.
  • 1 year supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of the healthcare system infrastructure, federal and state regulations.
  • Previous experience in leadership is preferred.
  • Experience in directing and coordinating programs, projects, resources preferred.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulations for Hospital settings.

Nice To Haves

  • ALS preferred within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to quantify past management achievements.
  • Experience with Joint Commission accreditation surveys.
  • Ability to develop and grow a new service line or specialty areas.
  • Experience in monitoring monthly reports and developing action plans.
