About The Position

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – Emergency Services for a permanent leadership opportunity in Panama City, Florida. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day emergency department operations while providing direct leadership to clinical staff. The Nurse Manager collaborates closely with the Emergency Department Director and medical staff to ensure high-quality patient care, staff development, and operational excellence in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license or valid compact licensure.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma from an accredited institution required.
  • Enrollment in a BSN program required.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of recent (within the last year) acute care Emergency Department leadership experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and operational management skills.
  • Ability to manage high-volume emergency department environments effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for day-to-day emergency department operations.
  • Manage and supervise department staff, including performance management, conflict resolution, and policy compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Emergency Department Director on staffing, scheduling, and operational needs.
  • Participate in department and hospital committees and support staff involvement as appropriate.
  • Assess training needs and assist with implementation of staff development programs.
  • Support onboarding and orientation of new employees in collaboration with preceptors.
  • Maintain strong clinical knowledge related to emergency nursing practice, equipment, and departmental policies.
  • Ensure completion of unit quality checks, including crash carts, temperature logs, and other regulatory indicators.
  • Assist with clinical procedures as needed and support patient flow and case management.
  • Collect and analyze operational and quality data to support performance improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
