Overview Developmental and Behavioral Health Services at Children’s Mercy cares for children and teens who need extra support with developmental, psychiatric, or psychological concerns. We understand that a child’s mental, emotional, and behavioral health is an integral part of their well-being. A variety of services are offered to best meet the patient’s needs. Services include evaluation in the Autism Clinic, Developmental Delay clinic, or outpatient clinical psychology clinic. Multi-disciplinary teams work together to find the right combination of medication and dosages to improve the patient’s wellbeing through the Autism and Developmental Disorder Medical Clinic and the Psychiatric Diagnosis and Medication Management Clinic. In the Depression, Anxiety, in Youth (DAY) clinic a personalized care team provides education and treatment to children and adolescents ages 12-17 with depression and anxiety disorders. that includes child and adolescent specialists in psychology, psychiatry, and social Our nationally recognized care centers, The Eating Disorders Center and Tourette Center, offer a multi-disciplinary approach to serve the patient and their family. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required and 1-2 years experience
  • At least 12 months of experience in clinical nursing.
  • or Master's Degree preferred and 1-2 years experience
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
  • RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO Kansas or Missour Multistate License required within 90 days
  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
  • Specialty Certification relevant to unit's patient population (determined by Nurse Director) Required Upon Hire

Responsibilities

  • Personnel management.
  • Comprehensive unit management and development of programs and services.
  • Participates in department and organization performance improvement activities.
  • Fiscal management and accountability.
  • Actively participates and provides leadership for education programs, unit meetings and assigned committees.
  • Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care for the patient/family which promotes optimal patient outcomes.
