The Manager, Clinical Education is a system-level leadership role accountable for the strategic development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of clinical education across the hospital system, with a specific focus on inpatient education programs. This role supports evidence-based practice, promotes clinical excellence, and ensures alignment of education initiatives with organizational priorities and quality improvement goals. The Manager oversees clinical educators, particularly those serving inpatient units, ensuring consistent standards, competency development, and regulatory compliance across the continuum of care.

  • Leadership & Team Oversight: Provides direct oversight and mentorship to a team of clinical educators. Leads the recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development of educator staff. Develops staffing strategies and scheduling systems to support inpatient education needs across all sites. Facilitates a positive work environment through effective communication, conflict resolution, and team-building strategies.
  • Program Development & Execution: Develops, implements, and evaluates education programs based on clinical priorities, patient population needs, and performance metrics. Ensures programs are evidence-based, aligned with adult learning principles, and delivered using diverse methodologies (in-person, virtual, simulation, etc.). Collaborates with vendors, supply chain, and clinical leadership to provide timely product education and training on new equipment, devices, or supplies introduced into inpatient settings.
  • Strategic & Operational Integration: Collaborates with nursing, operations, quality, and research leaders to integrate clinical education into broader system goals. Participates in strategic planning for clinical education across system.
  • Quality, Safety & Outcomes: Promotes a culture of inquiry by engaging staff in research, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice projects. Supports innovation in education through technology, simulation, and interprofessional collaboration. Encourages ongoing professional development and certification for educators and clinical staff.
  • Finance & Resource Management: Manages departmental budget and resource allocation for inpatient education. Seeks and supports opportunities for grant funding and resource development. Ensures cost-effective deployment of education resources and alignment with fiscal targets.
  • Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia.
  • National nursing certification (e.g., NPD-BC, NEA-BC).
  • Professional organization membership.
  • Masters Degree. Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing, MBA, or MHA or other related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of clinical nursing experience and minimum three (3) years within clinical education.
  • Excellent clinical and operational skills.
  • Ability to synthesize program performance and clinical outcomes
  • Proven ability and sound knowledge base in the areas of instructional design, work group effectiveness, shared governance, and nursing management issues.
  • Track record of achieving effective collaboration across departmental and organizational lines.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to hold people accountable to standards of performance or ensure compliance using the power of one's position or force of personality appropriately and effectively, with the long-term good of the organization in mind.
  • The ability to engage key partners, physicians, employees and executive leadership, and sustain their commitment to changes in approaches, processes and strategies.
  • The ability to work cooperatively with others as part of a team or group.
  • Leadership experience within an academic medical center is highly preferred.
