About The Position

FlexStaff is hiring Nurse Manager - Behavioral Health for our client located in Brooklyn. MUST HAVE!! Experiencing managing a psych unit in a hospital Location: Onsite in Brooklyn NY Salary 145k-160k Hours: 8am-4pm Key Responsibilities: Previous experience working with children aged six (6) weeks to six (6) years of age (paid or unpaid). Responsible for operations and management of the unit in collaboration with the Director. Oversee patient care area to ensure clinical needs and competencies are met. Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees. Ability to interact professionally, courteously, and appropriately with patients, visitors, and other employees. Responsible for the implementation of hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory agencies’ codes and regulations as they pertain to the Department. Assemble and prepare data relative to clinical activities as well as other statistical and special reports required by the NY State Office of Mental Health (OMH), the NY Department of Health (KOH), the NY City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), and the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS). Review and monitor admissions and discharges to ensure appropriate clinical management and discharge planning. Responsible for gathering performance improvement data, gathering information and meeting compliance standards for regulatory agency surveys, including DOH and JCAHO. Responsible for operational leadership on a 24-hour basis. Responsible for ensuring that all PCS Scope of service, Philosophy of Nursing and Ethical standards are met while delivering patient care. Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Director and/ or Sr. Vice President for Patient Care Services. Compliance with regulatory requirements. HCAPS: Development with team and service.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years as Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in psychiatry.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Critical thinking, math, and computer skills; works as a team player.
  • Monitor and facilitatesthe meeting of requirements of NYSDOH, JCAHO and other regulators.
  • Knowledge of methods for CQI, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Demonstrate competence in leadership, budgetary and administrative skills.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional growth and development.
  • Excellent oral and communication skills.
  • Ability to fully utilize BHMC's electronic record systems, equipment and healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.
  • Graduate of accredited Nursing school BSN.
  • Licensed and currently registered as a Professional Nurse in New York State.
  • Basic Life Support
  • ACLS
  • Crisis Management (PMCS, TRUST)
  • Experiencing managing a psych unit in a hospital

  • Master’s degree in nursing.
