About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health to provide operational and clinical leadership for an inpatient psychiatric unit within a hospital setting. This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and compliant patient care in collaboration with senior nursing leadership.

Requirements

  • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical psychiatric nursing experience
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a hospital setting
  • Prior experience managing an inpatient psychiatric unit
  • Strong knowledge of NYSDOH, JCAHO, and OMH regulatory standards
  • Experience with Quality Improvement, CQI, and Root Cause Analysis
  • Strong leadership, administrative, and budget management skills
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in EMR systems
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred
  • Crisis Management certifications (PMCS/TRUST) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24-hour operational oversight of the Behavioral Health unit
  • Manage daily clinical and administrative operations in collaboration with nursing leadership
  • Ensure compliance with NYSDOH, JCAHO, OMH, DOHMH, ACS, and other regulatory standards
  • Oversee admissions, discharges, and care coordination to support appropriate treatment planning and transitions
  • Lead quality and performance improvement initiatives utilizing CQI methodologies and Root Cause Analysis
  • Prepare and analyze clinical, statistical, and regulatory reports
  • Monitor patient satisfaction initiatives, including HCAHPS metrics and service improvements
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, nursing standards, and ethical guidelines
  • Manage staffing, budgeting, supply inventory, and resource allocation
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing and interdisciplinary team performance
  • Support staff competency development, education, and professional growth
  • Maintain readiness for regulatory surveys and audits
  • Utilize EMR systems effectively for clinical documentation and operational management
  • Foster a collaborative, professional environment for patients, families, and staff
  • Implement evidence-based best practices in behavioral health care
