Manages the daily operations and activities of Behavioral Health. Responsible for the management of the department's daily operations to achieve quality improvement, fiscal, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals and objectives established by Director. These responsibilities may include but are not limited to; planning, preparation and oversight of staff schedules; providing input into employee decisions related to hiring, performance assessment and disciplinary actions;. The BH Manager collaborative working relationships with hospital leadership, physicians, and staff, both internal and external to the department and to accomplish these responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner. The BH Manager oversees and guides the staff to ensure the Department meets JCAHO standards and complies with corporate policy and procedures. The Manager BH manages 24/7 unit/department operations or a business function. HCA Florida Aventura Hospital is 467-bed hospital. We are a fully accredited medical surgery hospital. Requirements

  • Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Current Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification or must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 3 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience in an acute care Hospital setting
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a full time Charge Nurse/ Coordinator, Nursing Administrative Supervisor, or Nursing Management in an acute care Hospital setting

Responsibilities

  • Manages the daily operations and activities of Behavioral Health.

  • Planning, preparation and oversight of staff schedules
  • Providing input into employee decisions related to hiring, performance assessment and disciplinary actions
  • Collaborative working relationships with hospital leadership, physicians, and staff, both internal and external to the department and to accomplish these responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Oversees and guides the staff to ensure the Department meets JCAHO standards and complies with corporate policy and procedures.
  • Manages 24/7 unit/department operations or a business function.
