About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health (RN) to oversee inpatient behavioral health services within an acute care hospital setting in Aventura, Florida. This leadership role is responsible for managing 24/7 department operations, ensuring high-quality patient-centered psychiatric care, supporting staff development, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The ideal candidate brings strong inpatient behavioral health experience and demonstrated leadership in an acute care environment.

Requirements

  • Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact license eligible for Florida practice.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Minimum of 3 years leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Coordinator, Supervisor, or Nurse Manager) in acute care.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (within required timeframe).
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification (within required timeframe).

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5 years of inpatient psychiatric clinical experience.
  • Strong background in adult behavioral health.
  • Demonstrated longevity and progressive leadership growth.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily and 24/7 operations of the inpatient behavioral health unit.
  • Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care.
  • Monitor staffing, scheduling, and productivity to meet patient care needs.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and monitor clinical performance metrics.
  • Promote adherence to behavioral health best practices and safety protocols.
  • Support patient satisfaction and service recovery initiatives.
  • Participate in hiring, orientation, performance evaluations, and disciplinary processes.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture.
  • Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, physicians, and hospital leadership.
  • Manage departmental operations within budgetary guidelines.
  • Monitor labor utilization and operational expenses.
  • Support strategic initiatives aligned with hospital objectives.
