Our cancer physicians — along with researchers at our Florida Research and Innovation Center — lead clinical trials and study the newest advances in treating cancer. We are always researching how we can improve quality of life during and after cancer treatment. By joining the Cancer Center team as a Nurse Manager, you will oversee the practice of professional nursing and delivery of care for cancer patients at Martin North’s Robert and Carol Weissman Cancer Center, Tradition Hospital’s Infusion Center and future cancer clinics, and St. Lucie West Radiation Oncology. This position plays a key role in ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients and that the nursing practice aligns with Cleveland Clinic’s goals. Due to working with cancer patients, having cancer nursing experience and a cancer certification is highly preferred, but not required. Education is available through the Nursing Institute, along with support from senior nursing leadership. Come be a part of an expanding team who values excellent patient care each and every day. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • High degree of clinical expertise in specialty area managed
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Three years of experience as a clinical nurse
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of nursing care and practice of professional nursing for non-hospitalized patients (ambulatory population) within a specified department, procedural area, infusion area and/or Institute.
  • Collaborate with liaison departments in maintaining patient care standards utilizing evidence-based practice as applicable.
  • Participate in clinical nursing research and support Cleveland Clinic research activities.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of care.
  • Manage operation of unit by analyzing personnel structure, determining staffing needs, monitoring productivity and providing direction.
  • Provide supervision, evaluate performance and conduct selection and termination process.
  • Develop strategic plans in alignment with enterprise initiatives.
  • Ensure clinical team works at top of licensure / responsibility.
  • Actively promote staff and self-development.
  • Develop and maintain unit-related patient care standards through continuous quality improvement.
  • Develop quality and safety initiatives to provide the highest level of care.
  • Oversee development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure efficient, effective, evidence-based delivery of health services.
  • Attain and maintain JC and other regulatory standards.
  • Foster patience and employee satisfaction.
  • Promote shared decision making with input from staff.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of the budget.
  • Approve purchases, establish and revise inventory quotes.
  • Direct unit participation in evaluation of new products as applicable.
