About The Position

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), provides technical nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, and Vocational Training.
• Graduated from an approved Licensed Practical Nurse program.
• Completed a 30-hour IV Therapy Course for LPNs approved by the Florida Board of Nursing.
• Licensed to practice practical nursing in the state of Florida.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Crisis Prevention Institute training within ninety (90) days, and then annually for Psych Unit.
• NRP certification required for specific units within specified timeframes.
• STABLE certification required for specific units within specified timeframes.
• Less than one year training as an LPN.

Nice To Haves

• One (1) year of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical nursing care to patients under the supervision of an RN.
• Utilize the nursing process and standards of practice for LPN.
• Communicate in a professional manner with all members of the healthcare team.
• Learn and apply computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.
