About The Position

The position is within the Pediatrics department at Ascension Via Christi St Francis, located in Wichita, KS. This is a part-time role requiring 24 hours of work per week, specifically during the day shift, consisting of two 12-hour shifts from 7 am to 7 pm. The role involves providing direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Requirements

• BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date, accepted from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• High school diploma/GED required.
• Must be accepted or enrolled in a Nursing program upon date of hire/transfer and begin classes within 90 days of date of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Complete assigned nursing orders as directed by preceptor, including assisting patients with activities of daily living and taking vital signs.
• Observe patient status and responses, documenting and reporting observations to preceptor or other appropriate staff.
• Assist preceptor with the development of care plans by reporting test results and patient observations.
• Perform other tasks as assigned, including environmental services and preparing/transporting patients for diagnostic services.
