About The Position

Requirements

• License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and one year of full-time oncology nursing experience, or critical care experience, or three years of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting.
• Completion of Roswell Park nursing orientation and ability to function independently at a satisfactory level for three months as a Nurse I at Roswell Park.

• CNOR certification.
• Previous operating room or critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve patients prior to, during, and after invasive surgeries or medical procedures.
• Plan, provide, and supervise nursing interventions for individuals with cancer and cancer-related health care problems.
• Diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential health problems through patient care, health teaching, and health counseling.
• Execute medical regimens prescribed by licensed health care providers.
• Supervise Nurse I's, Licensed Practical Nurses, Hospital Clinical Assistants, and Clinical Support Assistants.
• Perform administrative tasks within the assigned area of responsibility.
• Participate in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings, and workshops for professional growth.
