Requirements

  • License: Valid Register Nurse License with the State of Arkansas or has qualified compact license. Must have valid CPR and is able to become certified in SAMA within 30 days of start date

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of inpatient mental health working experience is preferred.
  • One year supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain effective working relationship with physicians, health professional affiliates, patient’s families, and nursing staff.
  • Assist in coordinating and supervising services on assigned units to achieve a comfortable and positive patient care atmosphere.
  • Perform regular rounding on nursing units that include following up with licensed and non-licensed staff, check on acutely ill patients, and greet all new admissions.
  • Assist in creating a team atmosphere that enhances quality of care and experience for patients.
  • Provide support and direction for nurses by assisting them in assessments and care planning who may be experiencing a change in condition, assist in prioritizing tasks, provide education, and ensure proper supplies and medications are available.
  • Facilitate communication between licensed nurses and providers, responsible parties or outside vendors as needed to ensure patient care needs are met promptly and appropriately.
  • Respond to emergencies and ensure proper measures are conducted and fulfilled.
  • Ensure proper staffing needs are met on all assigned units.
