About The Position

FVI School of Nursing & Technology is seeking Full-Time Nurse Faculty with experience teaching Med-Surg and Fundamentals of Nursing. The faculty will support FVI in fulfilling its mission by focusing on facilitating student learning and educating compassionate individuals who are prepared to sit for the State License Exam (NCLEX-RN) following graduation. The faculty will provide professional leadership and support, acting as an educator, mentor, and facilitator to promote an engaging educational environment. Responsibilities include utilizing various teaching methodologies, supervising students in clinical settings, and collaborating with the Clinical Director for student placements.

Requirements

  • Active and encumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
  • Master’s degree in nursing required.
  • Medical Surgical and Mental Health Background strongly preferred.
  • Active BLS certification; American Heart Association.
  • Three or more years of teaching experience required.
  • Three or more years of clinical experience required in specialty being taught.
  • Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and other MS office products as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes different methodologies of teaching to prepare various kinds of learners and fulfill expected student outcomes.
  • Follows institution’s policies and procedures as stated on faculty handbook and catalog.
  • Participates in faculty meetings and collaborates with Director of Nursing in improvement plan set by institution.
  • Facilitates learning by delivering fully assigned teaching load.
  • Supervises students in the clinical setting, as well as Skills/Simulation as needed.
  • Maintains actively interested in students and creates a welcoming atmosphere to foster a learning environment.
  • Collaborates with Clinical Director in placing students in clinical facilities to complete necessary clinical hours.
  • Assists with clinical preceptorship if applicable.
  • Is a team player, expresses enthusiasm for teaching, and is willing to aid students in the learning process.
  • Maintains regular office hours for students and fosters a supportive educational environment.
