About The Position

Our Nurse Externship Program is an 8–10 week paid summer experience beginning in May or June , designed to provide nursing students with meaningful, hands-on clinical exposure in an inpatient hospital setting. Nurse Extern placement is guided by expressed clinical interests , offering opportunities across the full continuum of inpatient nursing care. Potential placement areas may include: Medical-Surgical Telemetry Critical Care Women & Children’s Services Throughout the program, Nurse Externs work alongside experienced Registered Nurses, gaining real-world experience that strengthens clinical skills, builds confidence, and supports the transition from student to professional nurse. This program is ideal for nursing students seeking to explore inpatient specialty areas, develop practical bedside skills, and gain valuable insight into future career pathways within nursing. Free student housing is available for the duration of the program , making this an excellent opportunity for students relocating to the area for a summer clinical experience

Requirements

To be considered for this program you must be enrolled and attending an accredited school of nursing who has completed his/her junior year of a bachelor’s degree in nursing curriculum (BSN) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella.
MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.
