Nurse Extern - Float Pool
About The Position
The Nurse Extern, is currently enrolled and in good standing in an RN School of Nursing and has successfully completed a Nursing fundamentals course. The Nurse Extern delivers high-quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the Nurse Extern assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the Nurse Extern’s skills/training. The Nurse Extern can perform higher-level procedures once competency is achieved and knowledge has been acquired from the school curriculum. During the final practicum of nursing school and until licensure, the nurse extern may be preceptored by an RN and perform aspects of patient care as deemed competent to perform with continued supervision of a registered nurse.
Requirements
- Enrolled and in good standing at a school of Nursing.
- Successful completion of a nursing fundamentals class.
- BLS Certification

- Prior clinical experience in area of expertise preferred.
