Nurse Extern (Part Time, Days) Northeast-Jefferson
About The Position
As a Nurse Extern, you will be responsible for the following: Performs specific tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse. Demonstrates accountability for assigned patients on shift or assignment. Seeks out learning opportunities and guidance from appropriate individuals. Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or a Registered Nurse, the Nurse Extern will carry out routine patient care assignments, work in controlled care situations, and perform established nursing procedures for individuals or groups of patients. Job Description Start Date: May 18th, 2026 NURSING STUDENTS WHO GRADUATE IN DECEMBER 2026 OR MAY 2027 ONLY WILL BE ACCEPTED INTO THIS PROGRAM 10 Week Program - 24 hours weekly minimum, two 12 hour shifts - day shift (7a-7p) · Education & Training: Student currently enrolled in an accredited college of nursing who has completed at least one semester of medical surgical clinical rotation. · Experience: Successful completion of Fundamentals in Nursing, completion of at least one medical surgical clinical rotation and clinical skills lab from an accredited professional nursing program. · License, Certification & Registration: Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification. · Other Requirements: Good organizational and interpersonal skills. Need to be commutable to Torresdale, Frankford, and Bucks Placement will be determined upon hire Will be placed in med/surg or telemetry units 2 weekend shifts required within 10 week program
Requirements
