About The Position
Nurse Extern will deliver patient care under the continuous, direct supervision of the preceptor per KBN AOS 15. The Nurse extern may perform nursing tasks as delegated under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in accordance with this section. At minimum competency shall be verified by student skills check off list from the nursing program documenting that the nurse extern has successfully completed clinical tasks as a student in the program of nursing. Nurse externs are expected to keep skills checklist with them at all times for preceptors to validate competency. The nurse extern will NOT independently assume the role, function or responsibility of licensed personnel. Adheres to specific hospital policy and procedures.
